La Grande Dame is a fabulous cuvée, which represents the quintessence of Pinot Noir since it represents more than 90% of its blend since 2008. Assertive, elegant and subtle, this edition in collaboration with Yayoi Kusama honors the 2012 vintage. The flowers and dots, characteristic of the Japanese artist, plunge us into a colorful and exhilarating universe.

The domain

Veuve Clicquot, founded in 1772, celebrates its 250th anniversary in 2022, embodying its slogan “Only one quality, the very first”. Known for its emblematic cuvée Carte Jaune, it owes its success to the audacity of Madame Clicquot. In 1805, Barbe Clicquot Ponsardin took over the business on the death of her husband, becoming a pioneering figure in a male-dominated sector. She created the first vintage in 1810, invented the riddling table in 1816, and launched the first blended rosé in 1818.

Today, Veuve Clicquot owns 390 hectares of vineyards, located in some of Champagne's finest crus. The environmentally conscious house has not used herbicides since 2018 and reduces the use of phytosanitary products every year for a sustainable vineyard. It also operates a vast network of UNESCO-listed chalk pits.
