The sommelier info
The Togouchi range is aged in a unique location located in the heart of the mountainous region of West Chugoku. Unique because it is in a tunnel with a length of 387 meters, dug in the 1970s, that the barrels are stored. The temperature inside is constant, 14 °C throughout the year, making this tunnel an ideal place for the ageing of whiskies.
The nose begins with sweet notes of hazelnut, honey and corn. Then smoked and peaty notes develop.
In the mouth, it turns out to be light and soft. Aromas of grain, chocolate, pepper and velvety honey. The finish is subtle on spices and nutmeg.
