The domain
The domain of Montcalmès is situated in 40 kilometers in the northwest of Montpellier, on the tray of the same name dominating the gorges of the Hérault. Experienced wine growers, Frédéric Pourtalié and his cousin Vincent Guizard know a success amply deserved since their first vintage wine (1999). The property counts 16 hectares of vineyards in red and 3 hectares in white today. The syrah and the grenache, already implanted, were completed by the mourvèdre, then by the white vines as the roussanne, the marsanne and the Chardonnay. Montcalmès asserted himself as a major revelation of Languedoc of the last ten years on the Terraces of Larzac.
