Les Creisses by Domaine des Creisses is a fairly powerful red wine, spicy and dense, with a hint of ripe black fruit. This blend of many Languedoc grape varieties (but not only!) is also made from old vines! More complexity and depth are expected, although the tannins remain soft and supple. A marvellous wine!
The sommelier info
This cuvée from Domaine Les Creisses is undoubtedly an exclusive wine. A powerful wine with aromas of black fruit, spices, leather, cocoa and liquorice. The result of a fairly long maceration and ageing period of 12 to 18 months, this Languedoc red is quite complex and has become iconic over time... This vintage is the hottest since 2001, producing wines that are sunny, rich and expressive.

The domain
Domaine des Creisses is located between the sea and the mountains in the Languedoc region, more precisely in the Hérault. Les Creisses is currently managed by Philippe Chesnelong and benefits from the experience of Louis Mitjavile. The estate’s twenty-odd hectares are planted in a wide range of soils, and its terroir expresses itself in the suppleness, richness and depth of its red wines. The cuvée Les Brunes takes its name from the dark volcanic soils in which the plots are planted. The eponymous cuvée Les Creisses is also considered one of the region’s finest wines. Philippe Chesnelong’s aim is to let the terroir speak for itself and create great Pays d’Oc red wines. The growing success of Les Creisses was already more than evident, and the domaine has now added another small victory to its list, having just been awarded the Haute Valeur Environnementale label.
