"Umeshu" is a Japanese liqueur made from ume plums, a fruit that looks more like an apricot than a traditional plum.
Shiratama Umeshu is a Japanese liqueur made from whisky. It is made by macerating plums in shochu, a Japanese alcoholic beverage distilled from ingredients such as rice, wheat and sweet potato. Sugar and a touch of whisky are then added, creating a liqueur with a unique character.
The nose of this liqueur is gourmand, with delicate aromas of plums, honey and almonds. On the palate, it has a round, fruity texture, with flavours of plum and candied apple blending harmoniously. The finish is soft and lingering, with subtle notes of black cherry that round off the experience perfectly.
