The vineyard from Anjou is essentially situated around the cities of Angers and Saumur. The naming AOC Anjou is reserved for red and white still wines. Chenin is the main vine associated with the Chardonnay and with the Sauvignon for white wines endowed with a big aromatic sharpness of apples and with citrus fruits. Red wines of the AOC Anjou, stemming from some Cabernet Franc and from some Cabernet Sauvignon, possess a supple and round character with fruity and floral aromas and silky tannins.
