Château des Bormettes is located on the Var coast, in the heart of the Côtes de Provence La Londe appellation. Les Bormettes has 70 hectares of vineyards and 140 hectares of maquis and forest. A place full of history, between land and sea.
It is necessary to go back to the Gallo-Roman era to know the beginnings of the Domaine des Bormettes. In the sixteenth century, it was exploited by the monks of the Chartreuse de la Verne then in 1855 by Horace Vernet, the painter of Napoleon III who will transform it into Château des Bormettes. Over the centuries, this wine estate developed into a family property in 1929 with the Goulin family. Since the 1980s, Fabrice and Hélène Faré have taken over the Chateau des Bormettes, notably by accelerating the bottling directly at the Château.
The vineyards of les Bormettes are based on quartz and schist soils and are cultivated in reasoned agriculture. In addition, the vines of the Domaine des Bormettes are on average 25 years old, which again leaves a significant footprint. In order to preserve the taste and the terroir of the castle, the cellar and the cellar have been modernized. The rigorous selection of the plots and the diversity of the grape varieties (Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Rolle, Mourvèdre and Carignan) are major assets for the Faré family who wished to protect les Bormettes from urbanization.
Château des Bormettes offers three ranges, thus taking full advantage of the privileged terroir of La Londe-les-Maures: Essentielle, Signature and Parcellaire ranges. The cuvées Côte & Mer are wines focused on freshness and greediness, showing a nice drinkability. Finally, les Bormettes also offers a selection of the best plots of the vineyard with its cuvées L'instinct Parcellaire. These wines are the result of meticulous work with a manual harvest of grapes. Finesse and elegance perfectly describe the parcelled cuvées of the Chateau des Bormettes.
