Château Minuty

MINUTY

MINUTY A HISTORICAL PROPERTY

Built under Napoleon III, the Chateau Minuty was purchased in 1936 by Gabriel Farnet. He then undertook to replant the Domaine Minuty entirely in order to give it its old splendour. Subsequently, his daughter Monique and her husband Etienne Matton planted Provencal grape varieties such as Tibouren or Grenache. In 1955, Château Minuty was one of 23 properties distinguished as “Cru Classé des Côtes de Provence”. The next generation, Jean-Etienne and François Matton, produced 80 % rosés, 10 % white and 10 % Minuty red, they also carried out improvement work in 2012.

CHATEAU MINUTY: MODERNISM AND RESPECT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

Château Minuty is established on limestone and schistose or clay-limestone soils depending on the plots. Domaine Minuty favours a rigorous cultivation and working of the soil through the addition of manure of goats and sheep, no weed remover or pesticide is used. Minuty is therefore one of the Provençal domains in reasoned culture: indeed, the harvests are manual. A state-of-the-art bottling line is used to prevent the oxidation of Château Minuty’s cuvées. In addition, Minuty red wines are also bred in barrels for a year.

WINE MINUTY, CUVEES D’EXCELLENCE IN PROVENCE
