Domaine Figuiere covers 125 hectares under the appellation Côtes de Provence. It is in La Londe-les-Maures that the Domaine Saint Andre de Figuiere grows a dozen grape varieties on a terroir of schist and quartz. This family estate is now known as a must-see in Provence.
The Domaine de Figuiere first belonged to a priest named Saint André de Figuière, from which he took his name, before being bought in 1992 by the Combard family. This family began by cultivating the vines in Burgundy and then settled in Provence with the desire to raise the rosé de Provence to the same rank as white. A few years ago, Alain Combard entrusted Figuiere’s management to his children Delphine, François and Magali. Thus, he transmits his know-how and perpetuates the family tradition while giving a new impetus to the Domaine Figuiere.
Since 1979, the vineyard of Figuière has been working in organic farming and certified Ecocert. Pesticides and chemical weeds are therefore prohibited, fertilisers are organic and manure is transformed into compost so that practices remain as natural as possible at Domaine Figuière. Finally, a green harvest is carried out in July and clovers have been planted in two rows to prevent soil erosion. The Domaine also boasts optimal sunshine, temperature regulation thanks to the sea as well as 35-year-old vines with a strong local footprint thanks to the terroir of La Londe.
In its early days, Figuière wanted to create its own style that is both simple and luxurious but also pure and elegant. Saint André de Figuière offers several ranges including Figuiere Premiere, Figuiere Signature with rosé star Magali and Figuiere Confidentialelle in appellation Côtes de Provence La Londe. The Domaine de Figuiere offers excellent wines of Provence, representative of their terroir, with rosés of a great vivacity and fruity. The reds show a beautiful complexity with spicy notes, vegetable aromas and a beautiful structure on the palate. The whites are desaltering with beautiful fruity and floral aromas.
Domaine de Figuière Magali Rosé is a light wine, it expresses itself on citrus aromas and small red fruits. The palate is beautiful, as is its supple texture. The finish is greedy and dominated by yellow fruit notes. A nice rosé from Provence that calls for summer.
Domaine Figuière François is a fruity red, with aromas of ripe blackberries and black fruits. On the palate, the tannins are patinated and fine. The freshness gives way to the spices of the end of the mouth. A Signature cuvée that we can only recommend!
Domaine de Figuiere Valérie White Wine has a nice finesse on the nose and mouth. Enchanting aromas of citrus, almond and fresh herbs complete a crisp and persistent mouth. We find light peppery notes in the finish. A complex and refined cuvée as we like them.
Première Rosé is a fruity and spicy cuvée. Pineapple, apricot and lychee give way to nutmeg and pepper. On the palate, this rosé is crunchy and well balanced. The finish is fine although spicy and salty. A rosé 100% pleasure!
Domaine de Figuière Première White Wine is powerful on the nose, white flowers, fennel, white peach and boxwood are present. The mouth also takes us into the scrubland while being sharp and structured. We particularly like the balance and the firmness of this Figuière white wine!
Figuière Première Red shows a beautiful depth and complexity with notes of liquorice, blackberry and cocoa beans. At the tasting, the texture is silky and dense. Nevertheless, the tannins remain fine and elegant. To drink now or in a few years, this cuvée from Domaine Figuière is ideal in any season.
Domaine de Figuière Confidentielle is a rosé of gastronomy, with an elegant and complex nose. The minerality is mixed with the aromas of ripe yellow fruits such as peach and apricot. On the palate, this rosé is smooth and fleshy. Its saline length perfectly reflects the schist soil and the sea spray near the Domaine. A great rosé of Provence undoubtedly!
The cuvée Figuière Confidentielle Red is intense, its aromas of ripe cherries, liquorice and garrigue make us travel. The texture in mouth is supple and the touch is smooth.
