Domaine Henri Bourgeois

Domaine Bourgeois is known for its parcelled vinification, at the time innovative in the region. For 10 generations, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc have been cultivated on 72 hectares by the Bourgeois family. It is in Chavignol that Domaine Henri Bourgeois, part of the appellations Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé, was established. In the 2000s, the Bourgeois family expanded its vineyard in Marlborough, New Zealand, which made it possible to offer wine in organic farming. In the 1950s, Henri Bourgeois was seen as one of the pioneering winemakers in Sancerrois. Helped by his sons from the 1960s, the Henri Bourgeois winery was able to develop as a family. The acquisition of new plots also helped to publicise these wines of character.
Henri Bourgeois has thus transmitted values that are, year after year, the common thread in the management of the domaine and the creation of authentic vintage from the Loire region. Above all, it is necessary to be passionate and perfectionist, to have the desire to promote the appellations and terroirs represented by Domaine Henri Bourgeois. The wine Henri Bourgeois bears the mark of the Loire, notably by its minerality and freshness. The two main grape varieties cultivated, Sauvignon blanc and Pinot noir, add greed and tension to the fruity and floral aromas of the Le Petit Bourgeois range and on high-end wines such as D'Antan, Etienne Henri and Jadis in particular.
