Domaine Olga Raffault has been producing Chinon wines for 5 generations, this love for viticulture and wine has been transmitted for years by Olga Raffault herself. Driven by the desire to produce local wines that are representative of cultivated grape varieties.

A STRONG FAMILY HISTORY AT THE DOMAINE OLGA RAFFAULT

The wine estate has been owned by the Raffault Family for several decades. Olga Raffault and her husband Pierre developed it jointly until Pierre’s brutal death in 1947. Then widow and mother of two children, Olga continued this long-term work to produce a famous vintage with the help of a friend of the family, Ernest Zeinninger. Today it is Sylvie, her granddaughter, who took over with her husband Eric de la Vigerie, and they intend to maintain the good recipes of the past. They are actively working to make known these fabulous terroirs and wines of Chinon Olga Raffault, already popular in the 1980s and 1990s.

TERROIR OF CHINON OLGA RAFFAULT

Domaine Olga Raffault is located between the Loire and the Vienne, in Savigny-en-Véron. The estate covers 25 hectares of vines: 24 hectares are used to produce Chinon Red and Rosé wines from Cabernet Franc, 1 hectare for Chinon White wine in Chenin monocepage. Domaine Raffault's vineyard has been in organic conversion since 2013, with already some cuvées in organic farming. The cultural methods used are traditional in order to maintain a strong identity in the wines of Chinon Olga Raffault. Made from vines aged 30 on average, Domaine Raffault produces wines of exceptional depth and intensity.

CHINON LES PICASSES, LES BARNABES AND MANY MORE...

The exceptional wines of Domaine Olga Raffault were born on diverse terroirs, sometimes gravel and sandy or limestone or siliceous argilo. Several wines of Chinon Red are produced at Domaine Raffault, including the cuvée Les Barnabés to eat rather in its youth and very appreciated for its freshness and fruity taste without the same. The cuvée Chinon Les Picasses has more structure, complexity and offers an interesting guarding potential thanks to a ageing ranging from 12 to 24 months. The cuvées Les Peuilles and Singulière are also suitable to be kept for several years, they are carved and intense Chinon wines. Domaine Raffault also produces rosé and white Chinon, fragrant and very elegant.
