The domain
It is a family exploitation, based at the beginning of the century, that is passed on since 3 generations at the heart of the vineyard Beaujolais. Domaine Marcel Lapierre is one of the jewels of the Vineyard Morgon. Since January, 2005, Mathieu Lapierre continues the production of natural wines. The vineyard, of 13 ha extending over the municipality of Villié-Morgon who 2 ha on the Côtes du Py, is cultivated in bio since 1981.
Domaine Lapierre has 18 hectares of Gamay, the flagship grape variety of the Morgon appellation. Marcel Lapierre’s philosophy says a lot about his vision of viticulture: "excellence depends on the human, the soil, the climate and the grape variety."
Domaine Marcel Lapierre produces about 80,000 bottles a year. The vintages are summarized with a wine of fruity and greedy thirst called the Raisin Gaulois and the main cuvée of Morgon Lapierre, one of the best known of the Beaujolais thanks to its potential of guard and its balance. When the weather is mild, the Morgon Camille Lapierre vintages, from a plot of the Côte du Py are a nod to the Lapierre family. Finally, the great Marcel Lapierre vintage is elaborated only on the great vintages and is emblematic of Domaine Marcel Lapierre.
