Minuty

Built under Napoleon III, Château Minuty was bought by Gabriel Farnet in 1936. He set about replanting the entire vineyard to restore it to its former splendour, using grape varieties that corresponded to the standards of Provence. Subsequently, his daughter Monique Farnet and her husband Etienne Matton replanted with Provençal varieties such as Tibouren, Rolle and Grenache. In 1955, Château Minuty was one of 23 estates designated as a "Cru Classé des Côtes de Provence". The next generation, Jean-Etienne and François Matton, produce 80% rosés, 10% whites and 10% reds, with Carignan and Ugni Blanc completely replaced by Grenache and Rolle. They also carried out improvements to the tasting cellar and built a second barrel cellar as well as a professional tasting and meeting room in 2012. In 2022, the 4th generation of the Matton family took over at Château Minuty with Anne-Victoire Matton, who now assists her father Jean-Etienne and her uncle François in running the family business. LVMH acquired Minuty in 2023.

CHATEAU MINUTY: MODERNISM AND RESPECT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

Château Minuty is established on limestone and schistose or clay-limestone soils depending on the plots. Domaine Minuty favours a rigorous cultivation and working of the soil through the addition of manure of goats and sheep, no weed remover or pesticide is used. Minuty is therefore one of the Provençal domains in reasoned culture: indeed, the harvests are manual. A state-of-the-art bottling line is used to prevent the oxidation of Château Minuty’s cuvées. In addition, Minuty red wines are also bred in barrels for a year.

Domaine Minuty is divided into 2 ranges: Chateau Minuty with cuvée Minuty Rose et Or, cuvée Minuty 281, Minuty with cuvée Minuty Prestige and Minuty M.
