Miraval

Chateau Miraval is THE wine estate bought by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. The superb property is located in Correns in the Var, the first Bio village in France. The vineyard covers 600 hectares in organic farming with two appellations: Côtes de Provence and IGP Méditerranée, aomng the best appellations in Provence Wines.

IDEAL CONDITIONS FOR MIRAVAL WINES

Miraval is composed of a 17th-century Provençal castle-bastide, an estate with pinewood, olive grove and a wine estate of 30 hectares of the vineyard. The fact that each vineyard is perched at about 350 metres above sea level and the Miraval land is made up of dry stone terraces gives the wines a certain balance. The plots take advantage of sunny days and cool nights, giving the grapes of the estate a small Provencal touch. Miraval also has its own valley of 4 kilometers east to west. The maintenance and restructuring of this vineyard requires a huge investment, but that is the price to pay to continue to climb the steps in terms of quality and quantity!

PERRIN AND MIRAVAL: A WINNING DUO

The shock pair formed by the Perrin family with the former couple Pitt-Jolie made sparks, to the point that the Perrin Family (owner of the Château de Beaucastel), has been in charge of the wine estate since 2011. From the distribution of the cuvées, to the cultivation of the vines without herbicides or pesticides, then through vinification, it also botts at the castle. Under his direction, Château Miraval produces two rosés (Chateau Miraval rosé and Studio de Miraval), two whites and one red. The main grape varieties grown are Grenache, Rolle, Syrah, Cinsault and Tibouren. Thus, Miraval cuvées convey Provencal character and Mediterranean sweetness.

MIRAVAL, A MYTHICAL WINE ESTATE

Let’s talk a little people: Miraval has been owned since 2008 by the two famous actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. There has also been a recording studio at Château Miraval since the late 1970s, created by the famous jazzman and pianist Jacques Loussier. This studio allowed great music names such as Pink Floyd, The Cure, AC/DC, Shade and Sting to record their albums. In addition, Château Miraval Rosé was awarded Wine Spectator magazine in 2012 with the mention of “win number one in the world”. The biggest albums were thus born in this place, which is nicknamed “the valley of wonders”.
