Figuière
Domaine Figuiere covers 125 hectares under the appellation Côtes de Provence. It is in La Londe-les-Maures that the Domaine Saint Andre de Figuiere grows a dozen grape varieties on a terroir of schist and quartz. This family estate is now known as a must-see in Provence.
DOMAINE DE FIGUIERE, A FAMILY BUSINESS
The Domaine de Figuiere first belonged to a priest named Saint André de Figuière, from which he took his name, before being bought in 1992 by the Combard family. This family began by cultivating the vines in Burgundy and then settled in Provence with the desire to raise the rosé de Provence to the same rank as white. A few years ago, Alain Combard entrusted Figuiere’s management to his children Delphine, François and Magali. Thus, he transmits his know-how and perpetuates the family tradition while giving a new impetus to the Domaine Figuiere.
DOMAINE FIGUIERE: THE LOVE OF LA LONDE TERROIR
Since 1979, the vineyard of Figuière has been working in organic farming and certified Ecocert. Pesticides and chemical weeds are therefore prohibited, fertilisers are organic and manure is transformed into compost so that practices remain as natural as possible at Domaine Figuière. Finally, a green harvest is carried out in July and clovers have been planted in two rows to prevent soil erosion. The Domaine also boasts optimal sunshine, temperature regulation thanks to the sea as well as 35-year-old vines with a strong local footprint thanks to the terroir of La Londe.
SAINT ANDRE DE FIGUIERE WINES
In its early days, Figuière wanted to create its own style that is both simple and luxurious but also pure and elegant. Saint André de Figuière offers several ranges including Figuiere Premiere, Figuiere Signature with rosé star Magali and Figuiere Confidentialelle in appellation Côtes de Provence La Londe. The Domaine de Figuiere offers excellent wines of Provence, representative of their terroir, with rosés of a great vivacity and fruity. The reds show a beautiful complexity with spicy notes, vegetable aromas and a beautiful structure on the palate. The whites are desaltering with beautiful fruity and floral aromas.
