Pirate’s Grog Rhum

Pirate's Grog is a rum brand founded in 2012 by Gareth and Beth, two British travellers who set off in search of adventure in Honduras, making it one of the more unexpected names in Infinivin's spirits selection. The rum is distilled and aged on the island of Roatán, around sixty kilometres off the Honduran coast, a former buccaneer hideout where pirates once sold their plunder and sought shelter from bad weather.

An identity steeped in pirate history

Everything about the brand draws inspiration from this maritime heritage: its name, the skull on its label and the spirit of adventure embodied by every bottle. This imagery is more than just a marketing device: it is rooted in the history of an island long associated with Caribbean buccaneers, where rum played a central role in the daily lives of sailors and pirates alike.

Three styles for three different occasions

The range includes several aged expressions, all made from molasses and matured in American white oak barrels previously used for Bourbon, with no added colouring or chill filtration in order to preserve the authenticity of the finished spirit. The 5-year-old rum has a golden colour and aromas of vanilla and caramel, offering a smooth, approachable drinking experience. The 13-year-old expression, a blend of single casks ("Single Cask"), offers greater complexity, with notes of dried apricot, pear and chocolate, followed by vanilla, cinnamon and coffee on the palate. A spiced version completes the range: after five years of ageing, the rum is infused with cinnamon, ginger and cloves, creating a spicier profile designed to be enjoyed both neat and as a way to give cocktails an extra twist.

How to enjoy Pirate's Grog

The 5-year-old can be enjoyed neat, over ice or in a simple cocktail such as the Golden Pistol (rum, ginger ale, ice and fresh lime). The richer, longer 13-year-old is best enjoyed neat at room temperature to fully appreciate its aromatic complexity. The spiced version is a natural choice for winter cocktails or hot drinks, where its spice notes pair particularly well with richer flavours.
