Chairman’s Reserve Original draws its character from two complementary distillation methods, combining the finesse of the Coffey column still with the richer personality of pot still rum. Each component is matured separately in ex-Bourbon barrels before blending, followed by a further six months of resting in oak vats to bring greater harmony. Ripe banana and caramelised fruit lead into vanilla, chocolate, golden raisin, tobacco and clove, with a balanced palate and a smooth, creamy finish.

Chairman’s Reserve Original is a great introduction to the Saint Lucian style, relying neither on excessive sweetness nor sheer power but on the character created by blending different distillates. Expressive enough to enjoy neat, it also has the balance and structure required to bring real depth to cocktails.

Chairman’s Reserve Original pairs beautifully with flambéed banana, dark chocolate fondant or pecan tart; serve at around 18°C in a tulip-shaped glass and allow it a few minutes to open before tasting.
