Domaine
Domaine Foillard is one of the mythical vineyards of Beaujolais, in Morgon appellation. Jean Foillard likes to transmit strong values and convey the very essence of the terroirs he exploits, which allows him to produce wines of exemplary precision.
Originally from the Côte de Py Morgon, the name of the Domaine Jean Foillard started to be talked about a few years ago. It was in 1981 that the winemaker took over the family estate of 8 hectares. The same year, he vinified his first vintage of Beaujolais Foillard with his father and then moved a few years later to Villié-Morgon to further develop his work of the vineyard. Always very concerned about respect for the terroir and letting the grapes express themselves best, Jean Foillard vinifies in the traditional Beaujolaise way. The vineyard has been cultivated according to the principles of organic cultivation for about thirty years. The harvests are manual, and the cuvaisons are carried out for 2 to 3 weeks at low temperature and without yeast, in whole harvest. No herbicide or pesticide on the grounds of the Domaine Foillard.
Today, Domaine Foillard is among the elite of Beaujolais, delivering wines of a sweetness praised by all and a beautiful balance between structure and fruit. Jean Foillard elaborates several cuvées in red, become essential in the Beaujolais: Morgon, Morgon Cote de Py and Fleurie.
