THE FOUNDATIONS OF THE FOILLARD BEAUJOLAIS WINE ESTATE

Originally from the Côte de Py Morgon, the name of Domaine Jean Foillard began to make him talk about him a few years ago. It was in 1981 that the winemaker took over the family estate of 8 hectares. That same year, he vinified his first vintage of Beaujolais Foillard with his father and then settled a few years later in Villié-Morgon to further develop his work on the vine. Always very concerned about the respect of the terroir and let the grapes express itself at best, Jean Foillard vinifies in a traditional way Beaujolaise.

Domaine Foillard has always produced natural wines that express the characteristics of the terroir of granitic shale while keeping the appetite and freshness of the great wines of Beaujolais. Jean Foillard offers us Gamay of incredible purity! The vineyard has been cultivated according to the principles of organic cultivation for about thirty years. The harvests are manual, and the harvest takes place for 2 to 3 weeks at low temperatures and without deburring, in whole harvests. No herbicides or pesticides on Foillard Estate.

Domaine Foillard is now one of the elites of Beaujolais, delivering wines of a suavity greeted by all and a beautiful balance between structure and fruit. Jean Foillard develops several cuvées in red, which have become essential in the Beaujolais region: Morgon, Morgon Cote de Py and Fleurie. Morgon Foillard are gourmet and round on the palate while Fleurie is more delicate, on floral aromas, and spicy. Finally, the Morgon Côte du Py Foillard often produce large vintages, a special cuvée signed by Jean Foillard.
