Domaine des Rabichattes
Domaine des Rabichattes is located in Tracy-sur-Loire and has been producing bottled Loire wine since the 1950s. For more than 150 years, several families have succeeded each other at the domain, notably the Lasnier and Villatte families and the Grebet family, which is still at the head of Les Rabichattes. Fabrice and Vincent have taken over the family business from their parents, Nicole and Gérard, and wish to maintain a high level of quality.
In the last few years, the winery has been transformed in order to be able to receive the grapes by gravity and the tasting cellar has also been renovated in order to better welcome visitors. Domaine des Rabichattes has not used pesticides or chemical weed killers for ten years now. The goal is to complete the conversion to organic farming of the 23 hectares of the domain in 2023.
Domaine des Rabichattes is present in 3 appellations: Pouilly-Fumé, Pouilly-sur-Loire and IGP Côte de la Charité. Pouilly Fumé is the most famous and prestigious, it offers mineral, fruity and fresh white wines from the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety. Pouilly sur Loire is a very small appellation made from the Chasselas grape, which gives fine wines with little alcohol. The IGP Côte de la Charité are wines produced from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The terroir of this appellation is similar to that of the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune. The wines are then fruity, light, with melted tannins.
