Domaine Villa Symposia

Villa Symposia is an 18-hectare estate located next to Pézenas. The vineyard, in AOC Coteaux du Languedoc, belongs to Eric Prissette. Over the years, Domaine Villa Symposia has become a must in Languedoc.

VILLA SYMPOSIA, THE BIRTH OF A GREAT NAME FROM LANGUEDOC

In 2003, the Domaine Villa Symposia was born. The name Villa Symposia was created in relation to the Roman tradition (villa) and the values of sharing and conviviality (symposia) that it conveys. Eric Prissette visited Aspiran, a small village north of Pézenas and fell in love with this vineyard planted on clay-limestone soils and villafranchis. Tradition wanted Clairette to be the dominant grape variety in this geographical area, however after analysing the terroir Eric Prissette seized his chance to produce red wines Villa Symposia on his land.

CREDO AND TERROIR OF THE ESTATE VILLA SYMPOSIA

Villa Symposia has been in organic conversion since 2009 and is also turning to Biodynamics. Thus, thanks to the purchase of new equipment, the soils are now mechanically worked and the vineyard has been replanted when necessary. The average age of the vineyard is 40 years, making it possible to produce increasingly fine Villa Symposia wines over the years. The Domaine Villa Symposia also seeks to gain in precision, depth and richness when making its wines while maintaining the local footprint of the region.

VILLA SYMPOSIA ORIGIN AND BALANCE

Domaine Villa Symposia offers dynamic wines representative of their region of origin: racy and full of life. Villa Symposia mainly produces two cuvées in appellation Coteaux du Languedoc: Origin and Balance. L’Origine is the great cuvée du Domaine, rather confidential it shows character and a beautiful density in the mouth which ranks it among the great wines of Languedoc. The cuvée Villa Symposia Equilibre has a beautiful freshness while being generous and ample in the mouth.
