This second wine of Château Cantemerle, Les Allées de Cantemerle Red is fine, suave and elegant. On the palate, aromas of blackcurrant and raspberry, complexity and power are the order of the day. The tannins are delicate, and better than a second wine, it seduces with its immediate, slightly bewitching pleasure.

This Haut-Médoc is an excellent, enjoyable lunchtime wine.

Les Allées de Cantemerle Red is best served at 16-17°C with meat and, more generally, with home cooking. Serve it with lamb shoulder or chicken with mushrooms, for example. You can decant it half an hour before serving it.

The domain

Located in Haut-Médoc appellation, on serious fine and deep common Macau and Ludon, the vineyards of Cantemerle undergoes many influences, producing complex wines, balanced and refined, like its exceptional terroir. In the Middle Ages, the Château Cantemerle was part of the line of fortifications that defended the shores of Médoc, about a kilometer of the current castle. Château Cantemerle is classified great growth in 1855. The Mutual Insurance Building and Public Works make the acquisition in 1981 and entrust the management some time at the Maison Cordier, who undertakes to renovate the buildings and replant the vineyard. In the 90s, after more than a decade of intensive investments, a management team is in place locally. It is still present today, led by Philippe Dambrine.
