Deanston Virgin Oak is a Highland whisky, first aged in old bourbon casks from a Kentucky artisan cooperage, giving it its citrus notes. It is then matured in new oak casks, adding a spicy character to the whisky. This method is not widely used because of its cost, but it gives the final product a drier, spicier profile.

The nose of this Whisky Deanston Virgin Oak opens with powerful aromas of new oak, which blend harmoniously with lemon zest and a hint of barley sugar, while delicate notes of apple and nutmeg emerge. On the palate, the sweetness of this Single Malt evokes childhood memories of candied fruit, vanilla and toffee, perfectly balanced by the sweetness of heather honey. The lightly spiced finish reveals honeyed malt and a subtle touch of wood.

This Scotch whisky is excellent value for money, well-balanced and gourmet-oriented.
