Domaine de Fosse Seche rests on a mainly limestone soil. The location of the Fosse Seche vineyard is ideal because it benefits from the wind and the freshness of the Brossay plateau as well as the heat stored by the flint stones that are there.
The first vestiges of Château de Fosse Sèche date from the Middle Ages, including wine vats that are among the oldest in France. It was also in Fosse Sèche in 1905, that Paul Taveau, winemaker, undertook completely new tests in terms of winemaking. He thus created the Cabernet d'Anjou and was rewarded for this discovery. Today, Guillaume and Adrien PIRE, two generous and passionate twin brothers, accompanied by their companions, offer us Fosse Seche wines from an exceptional terroir.
Adrien and Guillaume Pire offer us today a white and a red Fosse Seche in Saumur appellation of undeniable purity. These Fosse Seche wines come from the Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties for the reds and Chenin and Chardonnay for the whites with these most famous vintages Eolithe and Arcane. The wine Eolithe red offers a pure expression of the fruit while being tense and concentrated. The wine Fosse Seche Arcane white is a wine with a good potential for aging, aromas of honey are associated with floral notes making this wine both elegant and fleshy.
