The domain

Issu d’une famille implantée dans le vignoble depuis 5 générations, le domaine Gérin a été créé en 1983 par Jean-Michel Gérin. Il reprend les terres de son père et son grand-père en créant son propre domaine, au début des années 80, à seulement 22 ans. Dans les années qui suivent, les installations sont rénovées et, en 2002, arrivent deux amis vignerons, Peter Fischer et Laurent Combier. Ce trio infernal se lance notamment dans la plantation du lieu-dit la Vallière, dans la Côte-Rôtie, avec des pentes allant jusqu’à 40 voire 60%. Aujourd’hui, le domaine Jean-Michel Gérin couvre environ 12 hectares dans les appellations Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, Côte-Rôtie et même dans l’IGP Collines Rhodaniennes pour un blanc et un rouge. Au chai, vous trouverez de l’inox et du chêne mais peu de bois neuf majoritaire, pour ne pas masquer le terroir et les cépages.
