This Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières by Domaine Olivier Leflaive embodies the finesse and expressiveness of a prestigious Burgundy terroir. Vinified from whole bunches and aged for 18 months in oak barrels (25% new), this Chardonnay reveals elegant fruity and floral aromas, as well as chalky minerality and subtle toasted notes. Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières seduces with its aromatic delicacy: ripe white fruits such as pear and apple mingle with citrus notes, while floral hints of acacia and honeysuckle combine with chalky minerality and a very subtle toasted texture. Its silky texture is underpinned by beautiful tension, balanced by controlled ageing, resulting in a wine that is both refined and powerful, capable of further development over time. An appellation that needs no introduction, especially when Olivier Leflaive is at the helm!

Domaine Olivier Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières pairs perfectly with fine fish and shellfish (sea bass, lobster, or scallops) or a lightly lemon-flavoured langoustine broth. Its finesse also complements creamy poultry dishes or soft or semi-mature cheeses such as goat's crottin or mild Époisses. Serve between 12°C and 14°C; a brief aeration may be beneficial in the early years.

The domain
The vineyard Olivier Leflaive is located on the Burgundy terroirs. Different and independent from the family vineyard Olivier Leflaive bring on his vineyard his contribution to great Buurgundy wines. The vineyard was created by Olivier Leflaive, his brother Patrick and his uncle Vincent in 1984. This is a young vineyard which suceed in standing out of the vineyard of the family set up in Puligny-Montrachet since 1635. Olivier Leflaive has become the small superior quality merchant. He bought several vineyards and and is the owner of 12 hectares of renowned appellation like Puligny Montrachet. Chassagne-Montrachet ou encore Meursault. A n’en pas douter, l’une des plus belles maisons de Bourgogne.
