Domaine
Domaine des Terres Dorées, a family exploitation managed by Jean Paul Brun, is situated to Charnay-en-Beaujolais, to 5 kilometers in the southwest of Villié-Morgon. Today, the exploitation covers 44 hectares distributed on several soils. First of all around the domaine, in the region of golden stones, with 19 hectares of Gamay, 8 of the Chardonnay, 2 of the Pinot noir and 1 of Roussanne. There are then several vineyards of Beaujolais, with 5 hectares of Fleurie, 4 of Moulin à Vent, 4 of Brouilly and finally 1 of Morgon. Jean-Paul Brun's practices and gestures put forward the environmental protection, with a deep interest for the organic methods.
Located in the area of the golden stones, this one gave its name to Domaine Terres Dorees Beaujolais (in French). Jean-Paul’s father had previously acquired 4 hectares and initially brought his grapes to a cooperative. He decided some time later to create his domaine and Jean-Paul Brun took it in hand in 1979. More than 30 vinifications have been made there since its creation, going from a domaine in polyculture to a domaine exclusively viticultural.
Jean Paul Brun has also built his reputation on the conscientious work of the flagship grape varieties of Domaine des Terres Dorees, Gamay and Chardonnay. Thus, its Beaujolais wines are of a great drinkability and possess a good potential of guard.
