Domaine Yves Leccia is located on the island of beauty also called Corsica, in Poghju d’Oletta and is part of the Patrimonio appellation. Leccia, located at the gates of the Mediterranean, has a clay-limestone terroir in the hills of E Croce and Partinelone.
DOMAINE LECCIA, WINEMAKER GENERATION AFTER GENERATION
Coming from a large family of winemakers, Yves Leccia naturally turned to oenology for his studies. In 1980, he graduated and spent a few years working in the family field. Today, Lisandru and Annette Leccia, the son and sister of Yves, manage the 13 ha vineyard near the Gulf of Saint-Florent. In 2004, Yves Leccia left the family estate to create his own domain: Domaine Yves Leccia, in collaboration with his wife Sandrine. He is also president of AVA Corsica and of the Scientific and Technical Wine Committee.
LECCIA PATRIMONIO: LOOKING FOR THE PERFECT BALANCE
The Leccia vineyard is followed closely, in a perfect balance tradition and modernity that perpetuates itself from generation to generation. The work of the vine is mainly focused on respect for the environment and minimal mechanisation. Bottling is done directly at the estate, followed by a breeding of 6 to 18 months depending on the cuvées. The vineyards of the estate Yves Leccia are traditionally worked, while being ploughed and mechanically paved. Thus, Yves Leccia was able to avoid the use of herbicides and allowed to pass his vineyard into organic farming certified Ecocert.
YVES LECCIA CORSICA FAMOUS WINES
Domaine Yves Leccia offers 2 ranges: the first in AOC Wine Corse Patrimonio in the 3 colors, as well as an excellent Muscat du Cap Corse with aromas of cedrat. The YL cuvées from the other range are made of IGP Ile de Beauté. It was in 2011 that Yves Leccia and his wife released their 1st Biancu Gentile, which today is no other than L’Altru Biancu. The cuvées Biancu Marinu and O Bà! came out shortly afterwards. The bet is rather successful for Yves Leccia Patrimonio wines since these wines are all fine and fresh. On the other hand, the red wines are fleshy and possess more bodies.
