While preserving its traditional image, Maison Louis Latour stands out as one of the most innovative in Burgundy. In 1979, it decided to start producing Chardonnay in Ardèche, a region blessed with clay-limestone soils and optimal sunshine. Grand Ardèche comes from the best plots, carefully selected each year at harvest time. The grapes are pressed, then the must is transferred directly into the oak barrels made by Tonnellerie Latour, using the same method as for the great white wines of Burgundy.
The sommelier info
Grand Ardèche has a pale yellow color with subtle green highlights. Its rich, complex nose reveals aromas of honey, acacia and almond. On the palate, this sunny vintage is distinguished by its generosity, with notes of roasted almonds. Thanks to its liveliness, the tasting ends on a slightly saline finish, awakening the appetite and stimulating the taste buds.
This cuvée is aged for a minimum of 10 months in oak barrels (25% new). The barrels come from the Louis Latour cooperage, and are medium-toast French oak.
This wine is served with
Louis Latour's Grand Ardèche goes well with grilled sea bass, sole meunière or blanquette de veau, leek quiche and a platter of charcuterie or Billat-Savarin. Serve at 10-12°C.

The domain
Louis Latour is an emblematic Burgundy house, recognized worldwide for its expertise and dedication to the art of wine. Founded in 1797, this family-run business has survived the centuries while preserving its traditions and innovating to sublimate the expression of Burgundy's terroir. Thanks to a combination of exacting standards, expertise and love of the vine, Louis Latour has established itself as a benchmark in the wine world, offering a range of cuvées that reflect the diversity and richness of this exceptional region.
LOUIS LATOUR, A HISTORICAL LEGACY
Louis Latour's history is deeply rooted in that of Burgundy. Established in Aloxe-Corton, the company is located in the heart of a prestigious terroir, renowned for its grands crus. In 1834, the Latour family acquired the Côte de Beaune, a property that symbolizes their attachment to the terroir. A pioneer in viticulture and winemaking, the house has developed a philosophy based on quality and respect for tradition. It has also set itself apart by becoming one of the first Burgundy houses to export its wines internationally, raising the profile of Burgundy beyond French borders.
LATOUR VINEYARD AND CELLAR WORK
The success of Louis Latour wines depends on meticulous work in the vineyard and cellar. The plots, often from terroirs classified as premier cru and grand cru, receive attentive care throughout the year: pruning, disbudding, manual harvesting, and rigorous selection of bunches. In the cellar, expertise takes over with vinification that respects fruit and terroir. Latour is also renowned for its masterful use of oak barrels, made in its own cooperage, guaranteeing optimal ageing and a unique signature. This attention to detail produces wines that are elegant, complex and well-balanced.
DISCOVER LOUIS LATOUR WINES
Louis Latour offers a diverse range of cuvées, reflecting the richness of Burgundy's appellations. Among the red wines, enthusiasts particularly appreciate Corton Grand Cru and Chambertin, which combine power and finesse. White wines such as Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet are perfect examples of the elegance and minerality of Burgundy's great Chardonnays. In addition to the prestigious crus, Louis Latour offers affordable wines such as Mâcon-Lugny and Petit Chablis, ideal for discovering the region.
LOUIS LATOUR'S ARDECHE WINES
In addition to its roots in Burgundy, Maison Louis Latour has also extended its expertise to the south of France, in the Ardèche region. Since the 1970s, it has been investing in this region to produce quality white wines, particularly from the Chardonnay grape. Ardèche wines are distinguished by their freshness and elegance, while offering fruitier, sunnier expressions than their Burgundian counterparts. Grand Ardèche, for example, is a refined white wine, vinified and aged with the same exacting standards as Burgundy crus, revealing notes of ripe fruit, vanilla and roundness. This adventure illustrates Louis Latour's ability to combine tradition with the exploration of new viticultural horizons.
