The domain
Today, Olivier Leflaive owns 17 hectares of prestigious appellations such as Puligny Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet and Meursault, which he has acquired judiciously over the years. Leflaive is undoubtedly one of the finest houses in Burgundy.
Olivier's grandfather, Joseph Leflaive, was responsible for expanding the Leflaive business, a 35-hectare family estate. In 1953, his son Joseph Régis and his brother Vincent took over the vineyards. Later, Olivier Leflaive took over the reins, and in 1985, he and his brother founded the Olivier Leflaive Frères winery. Meanwhile, his cousin Anne-Claude Leflaive was in charge of the Leflaive estate. On 1 April 2010, Olivier decided to retire, despite his deep attachment to the family business.
Olivier Leflaive owns vineyards producing mainly white wines from the three prestigious villages of the Côte de Beaune: Puligny Montrachet, Chassagne Montrachet and Meursault, as well as Chablis and the Côte Chalonnaise. The main goal is above all to produce great Olivier Leflaive wine: for him, this starts with growing beautiful grapes. Olivier Leflaive also aims to revitalise and humanise the world of wine. The vineyards have been cultivated according to biodynamic criteria for around 20 years, but Leflaive does not hold organic certification.
Olivier Leflaive wines are great Burgundy wines, some of which, such as Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru Abbaye de Morgeot and Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Les Garennes, have proven their worth. The range also includes Leflaive Montrachet, Corton-Charlemagne and Chablis Grands Crus, as well as accessible 1er Crus such as Meursault, Olivier Leflaive Puligny Montrachet, Pommard and Aloxe-Corton. These Olivier Leflaive white and red Burgundy wines will continue to delight with their distinguished character and finesse.
