Vintage Port is considered to be the very best of Port wines and must have exceptional organoleptic qualities, combining body and power.

A Vintage Port is made from the best grapes of a single year, which is usually a great year. It represents a very small percentage of Port wines (around 2%). To obtain approval for the ‘Vintage’ designation, four bottles of wine must be sent to the I.V.D.P. two years after the harvest, which will then decide whether or not to grant the request.
