Lune à Boire Orange is an Alsace skin-contact wine by Charlotte and Antoine Kreydenweiss, made in a deliberately free-spirited, natural style from organically grown grapes. Extended skin contact gives the wine its orange hue, greater texture and the gentle tannic grip that distinguishes orange wines from traditional whites. Highly aromatic, the 2022 moves between yellow fruit, citrus, floral and spicy notes, with an energetic, textured palate whose freshness beautifully balances its generous character.
The sommelier info
The nose immediately reveals the personality one seeks in an Alsatian orange wine: expressive, spicy, and generous, with the aromatic characteristics of the grape varieties taking on an extra dimension thanks to maceration. Citrus notes—particularly orange peel—blend with floral, fruity, and delicately spicy nuances.
On the palate, the maceration adds body and a slight grip that gives structure to the tasting experience without making the wine harsh. The aromatic intensity is balanced by a pronounced freshness and a mineral backbone that adds length to the wine. The finish is invigorating, spicy, and mouth-watering, giving this orange wine much more dynamism than its initial aromatic richness might suggest.
