Domaine
Domaine des Creisses, a few kilometers from Pézenas, departement of Hérault, run by Philippe Chesnelong. This former lawer took over the family vineyard in the 90's, He saw the great potential in this 24 acres property. Today Domaine des Creisses has three wines : le Causse, les creisses et les Brunes, this last one might be the best wine of south of France. Philippe Chesnelong wants to let the soil express itself for this great mediteranean wine. Since 1997, his cousin, Louis Mitjavile (Adwisor of Saint-Emilion who is known worldwide), is a big part of this success.
From the stony clay-limestone to the deep soil, through the slopes of gravel, Les Creisses are already well born. Les Brunes expresses its power through soils of basaltic volcanic origin on brown lands where Mourvèdre and Cabernet Sauvignon grow. The terroir of the Domaine des Creisses is perfectly transcribed in the wines: suppleness, depth and delicacy.
Today, Domaine des Creisses offers two wines: Les Creisses and Les Brunes, the latter being considered as one of the best wines of the region. Philippe Chesnelong has the ambition to let the terroir express itself and to realize a great red wine of the Mediterranean.
