Shipping informations

Le Jarron comes from the heights of Saint-Romain, on a steep south-west-facing slope where young Chardonnay vines benefit from both generous sunlight and altitude. Light, sandy soils mixed with limestone scree, combined with 12 months of ageing on fine lees in Burgundy barrels and demi-muids, shape a white whose rounded texture never overshadows its freshness. Citrus, white flowers and delicate fruit create a fragrant, precise expression, underlined by gentle minerality that brings balance and length to the palate.

The sommelier info

Le Jarron emphasizes aromatic finesse with notes of fresh fruit, citrus, and white flowers. The wine remains bright and precise, with a subtle minerality that gradually emerges as it breathes.

On the palate, it possesses a pleasant roundness without ever losing its energy. The fruit brings volume on the attack, then freshness gradually takes over, leading the Chardonnay toward a more mineral and mouth-watering finish. A Saint-Romain that is approachable in its youth but sufficiently structured to pair with refined cuisine.

This wine is served with

Domaine Henri & Gilles Buisson Saint-Romain Le Jarron Blanc pairs beautifully with seared scallops, sole with lemon butter, chicken with chanterelles or mature Comté; serve at around 12°C and allow the wine to warm gently in the glass to reveal its full finesse.

The domain

Located in Saint-Romain, in the heart of the Côte de Beaune, Domaine Henri & Gilles Buisson is deeply rooted in the winegrowing history of this Burgundy village. The family has been cultivating vines here since 1758 and today farms nearly 20 hectares using organic and biodynamic methods. Its Burgundy wines are produced in both red and white, with particular attention paid to the expression of each terroir.

Henri & Gilles Buisson: a family history in Saint-Romain

In 1947, Henri Buisson established himself as an independent winegrower and planted five hectares of vines, the same year Saint-Romain obtained its AOC status. His son Gilles and his wife Monica continued to develop the estate, which reached 14 hectares in 2000, while modernising the winery and the estate's equipment.

The third generation is now represented by Franck and Frédérick Buisson, Henri's grandsons, who took over the estate in 2008. They continue the work begun by previous generations while strengthening the property's environmental approach: the vineyard has been certified organic since 2009 and has been entirely farmed according to biodynamic principles since 2018.

Saint-Romain and the terroirs of the Côte de Beaune

The estate remains above all associated with Saint-Romain, where it produces several single-vineyard cuvées. The vines extend across limestone and marl slopes, often located between 300 and 400 metres above sea level. This diversity can be found in lieux-dits such as Sous la Velle, Sous Roche, Combe Bazin, La Perrière, En Poillange and Sous le Château, each offering a particular expression of Chardonnay or Pinot Noir.

The family vineyard nevertheless extends beyond the boundaries of the village. The Buissons also cultivate plots in several renowned appellations of the Côte de Beaune, including Meursault, Pommard, Volnay, Auxey-Duresses, Corton and Corton-Charlemagne.

The wines of Domaine Henri & Gilles Buisson

Chardonnay naturally plays an important role in the estate's white wines. In Saint-Romain, the different plots make it possible to explore freshness, minerality and texture, with cuvées produced separately in order to preserve the identity of each climat.

The red wines are made from Pinot Noir. In Saint-Romain, the Sous Roche and Combe Bazin cuvées notably illustrate the estate's plot-by-plot approach, combining fruit, finesse, depth and the expression of limestone and marl soils.

This focus on terroir expression goes hand in hand with a commitment to environmentally conscious viticulture that has developed over several generations. Now certified in both organic and biodynamic farming, Domaine Henri & Gilles Buisson therefore naturally finds its place among the organic wines selected by Infinivin.
