This Domaine Mayard Lirac Rosé expresses the full richness of the Lirac terroirs on the right bank of the Rhône. Renowned for producing wines with character, the appellation offers here a rosé that is at once rich, elegant and structured, a far cry from very light-bodied styles. True to the Domaine Mayard style, this cuvée combines freshness, aromatic intensity and lovely complexity.
Thanks to its balance of fruit, tension and richness, this rosé is equally suited to an aperitif or a full meal.
The sommelier info
The nose of this Lirac Rosé reveals expressive aromas of strawberry, raspberry and vine peach, complemented by notes of citrus, white flowers and a subtle hint of spice that lends it great finesse.
On the palate, it is full-bodied, fresh and perfectly balanced. Crisp red fruits combine with lovely liveliness and a pleasant minerality that lends length. The finish is lingering, fresh and delicately spicy.
After direct pressing, the juices ferment at a low temperature in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats to preserve all the freshness and purity of the fruit.
Ageing at Domaine Mayard takes place exclusively in vats on fine lees for several months, adding further body and complexity whilst preserving the cuvée’s characteristic aromatic brilliance.
