Domaine Theulot Juillot is located only in the municipality of Mercurey but this vineyard produces six 1st Cru with Theulot Juillot wines, red and white, in the Mercurey Village appellation.

DOMAINE THEULOT JUILLOT, A FEMININE TRANSMISSION

The family wine estate Theulot Juillot, created in the 2000s, was originally operated by Emile Juillot, then his wife Marguerite passed the farm to his granddaughter in 1987. This transmission by women is unusual, even rare in the wine sector, and this is what makes Domaine Theulot Juillot unique of its kind. Today, the granddaughter Nathalie Juillot is supported by her husband Jean-Claude Theulot to manage this estate of 12 hectares bearing their respective names.

CULTURAL PRACTICES FRAMED IN THE JUILLOT WINE ESTATE

The Mercurey appellation is located in the heart of the Chalonnaise Coast, one of the most important appellations in Burgundy. Red wines Theulot Juillot Mercurey evoke crunchy fruit. As for Mercurey whites, they develop aromas of white flowers, almonds and spices. The Theulot Juillot family quickly turned to cropping methods to control their yields, including burrowing, green and manual harvesting and stopping herbicides. Theulot Juillot wines are also bred in oak barrels.

GREAT WINES THEULOT JUILLOT MERCUREY

The Mercureys of Domaine Theulot Juillot are generally appreciated for the rigour and purity of its style as well as that of its typical Bourguignons grape varieties. Indeed, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay Juillot are worked gently and with respect for the terroirs of beige marnes that bring freshness and matter to the cuvées. Some plots located several hundred meters above sea level also allow us to bring depth and intensity when tasting Theulot Juillot wines. The harvests and the farms are quite long with a few new barrels, which makes it possible to obtain an interesting guarding potential.
