THE PRESTIGIOUS DOMAINE THIERRY MORTET

Domaine Thierry Mortet, located in Gevrey-Chambertin, Burgundy, embodies a path of passion and rigor. Founded in 1992 after the dissolution of Domaine Mortet Charles & Fils, it was taken over by Thierry Mortet, who doubled the original vineyard area to 8.5 hectares. Working with organic methods and on four renowned communes (Gevrey-Chambertin, Daix, Couchey, Chambolle-Musigny), in 2020 the wine estate integrated the new generation with the arrival of Lise Mortet, thus ensuring family continuity.

THIERRY MORTET, COMMITTED TO ORGANIC VITICULTURE

Winegrowing practices are meticulous at Domaine Thierry Mortet, aiming to express the purity and typicity of each terroir. Practicing organic viticulture since 2007, with a brief pause in 2016 due to weather constraints, Domaine Mortet has been certified organic again since 2019. Treatments in the vineyard and cellar are low-intervention and organic, with no use of synthetic products. Seasonal work, such as de-budding, leaf thinning, trimming and ploughing, is carried out foot by foot, respecting natural cycles. Hand-picking and meticulous sorting guarantee high-quality grapes, contributing to fine, expressive and well-balanced wines.
