The domain
Domaine Ogier is located in Ampuis, the famous village of the Côte-Rôtie appellation. 7 generations of Ogier have succeeded each other and today 18 hectares are exploited, of which 3.5 hectares are part of the most beautiful plots of the appellation. A godsend for Stéphane Ogier! It was 1983 that the winemaking and bottling began directly at the Domaine under the direction of Michel Ogier. Stéphane Ogier then joined the Domaine in 1997, taking over from his father. His ambition was to carry out a structured work based on the terroir of his various wines. Since 2014, Domaine Ogier has developed an ultra-contemporary winery, which allows it to vinify up to fifteen different wines. Finally, the estate was finally renamed Domaine Stéphane Ogier in 2015 to fully promote the expertise of this outstanding winemaker.
The rigour, the technicality and the passion shown by this winemaker of the Rhone Valley are all criteria that make it possible to rank it among the greatest of the appellation. The vintages of Stéphane Ogier have been given special attention, thus it presents several ranges including Grands Crus, Premiers Crus, the range Villages and regional on the appellations Côte-Rôtie, IGP Collines Rhodaniennes, Saint-Joseph and Condrieu. The Ogier wine is generally intense and slightly tannic, recalling the character of the Syrah and Viognier he has been working on for years. It is best known for its white wines, which are distinguished by their balance and density. A taste trip to the Rhone Valley that promises to be exceptional at Domaine Ogier.
