MENETOU-SALON

Menetou-Salon is a wine appellation created in 1959 and located in the Centre-Loire region, more precisely in the Cher department. It takes its name from the commune of Menetou Salon, a small village with a rich history, as well as from its unique terroir, which lends the wines their high quality.

A UNIQUE TERROIR AT MENETOU SALON

The vineyards of Menetou-Salon stretch over 600 hectares, some 30 kilometers southeast of Bourges, along the Loire Valley. The terroir is characterized by Kimmeridgian marls, sedimentary soils composed mainly of limestone and flint, offering ideal conditions for growing grape varieties that bring freshness, elegance and complexity to the wines. The Menetou appellation's winemakers, most of whom are passionate about their craft, follow viticultural practices that bring out the richness of this terroir, combining tradition and innovation.

MENETOU WINES FROM NOBLE VINES

Menetou-Salon wines are made from two main grape varieties: Sauvignon Blanc for the whites and Pinot Noir for the reds. Sauvignon Blanc, the emblematic grape of the Loire, gives Menetou-Salon whites great freshness and floral, fruity aromas, often enhanced by mineral notes typical of the terroir. As for the reds, made mainly from Pinot Noir, they offer supple, fruity wines with good structure and well-melted tannins, sometimes accompanied by light spicy notes.
