The domain
Champagne Deutz has always been renowned for its relentless pursuit of excellence, with a family spirit that remains central to its identity. Whether for festive occasions or elegant tastings, Deutz champagnes reflect the luxury and artistry of Champagne savoir-faire, confirming the house's position as one of the world's most prestigious references.
Founded in Aÿ in 1838 by William Deutz and Pierre-Hubert Geldermann, two wine merchants originally from Prussia, Maison Deutz is one of the most respected and renowned champagne houses. From its very beginnings, the house has distinguished itself by its quest for excellence and its attachment to tradition, while knowing how to evolve to meet contemporary expectations. Today, Champagne Deutz continues to embody a unique style, marked by finesse and elegance, and enjoys an international reputation. Today, under the aegis of the Roederer Group, the House of Deutz continues to flourish, combining tradition and modernity.
The Deutz vineyards cover some 45 hectares, mainly located around Aÿ, a highly prestigious Champagne terroir. The balance of Champagne Deutz is based on a meticulous blend of the three main Champagne grape varieties: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. The dominance of Pinot Noir in the blends lends a beautiful vinosity and structure to the champagnes. The house pays particular attention to the winemaking process and to cellar aging over several years, enabling the wines to develop remarkable complexity and depth, while retaining their freshness.
The Deutz style is characterized by fine, elegant bubbles, combined with a creamy texture and great freshness on the palate. The emblem of the house is Champagne Deutz Brut Classic, a balanced blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, distinguished by its perfect balance of freshness and fruitiness, with a vinous touch. In a different style, the Classic Rosé is appreciated for its gourmandise, while the vintage cuvées reveal remarkable complexity. Cuvée William Deutz, in particular, is rich and unctuous, while Amour de Deutz is round and sophisticated. They are among the house's most prestigious creations, illustrating to perfection the art of crafting great champagnes.
