Domaine Decelle et fils produces exceptional red and white wines in appellations Hautes Cotes de Beaune, Savigny-Lès-Beaune, Beaune 1er Cru, Chorey-Lès-Beaune or Côte de Nuits Village. This is one of the largest estates in Burgundy!
Originally named Domaine Decelle Villa since 2009, the association of Pierre Jean Villa and Olivier Decelle is a success. Pierre Jean Villa, winemaker in Côte Rotie and Olivier Decelle from Mas Amiel, winemaker in Roussillon, set up their cellar in a building dating from 1880 in Nuits Saint Georges, Burgundy. Their respective experiences in various French regions enabled them to quickly count among Burgundy’s reference winemakers. Indeed, their enlightened and demanding vision of viticulture gave birth to Burgundy wines halfway between the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. Today, it is with the family that the Domaine Decelle et fils is managed.
The vineyard of Domaine Decelle is grown in organic viticulture and certified Ecocert in order to preserve the very essence of this exceptional terroir. The Pinot Noir accounts for more than three quarters of the farm, Chardonnay completes the whole and the vines grow on mostly clay-limceous soils. The keyword is therefore respect for the environment, at the basis of all the practices of organic farming, carried by Olivier Decelle. They therefore linger conscientiously on each plot of Domaine Decelle in order to get the best out of it.
Domaine Decelle et fils has various winemaking tools in the about 300 m² of cellar remade to new: lightning, traditional wooden Burgundy tanks and double-walled stainless steel tanks. This contributes to the production of great Decelle Burgundy wines, led by Jean Lupatelli, the winemaker of the Domaine Decelle. Twenty cuvées are thus produced, the famous Corton-Charlemagne or the Nuits-Saint-Georges, Meursault and Pommard cuvées are no longer presented. All the proposed cuvées are well representative of the appellations, tasty and fruity, with a trend towards cherry.
