L’Unique brings together five grape varieties grown on a range of sandy, clay and loamy soils around Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with Grenache taking the lead. The winemaking focuses on fruit and suppleness, producing an immediately expressive red combining cherry, raspberry and ripe red berries with Provençal herbs and spice. The palate is generous and juicy, with a rounded texture, velvety tannins and enough freshness to retain a wonderfully appealing character.
The sommelier info
The nose opens with black cherry and ripe red berries, quickly accompanied by notes of garrigue and Provençal herbs. The wine as a whole possesses a beautiful aromatic intensity, with a distinct Mediterranean character but without any heaviness.
The palate is full-bodied and generous, supported by a round texture and supple tannins. The fruit remains at the heart of the tasting experience, while spices and aromatic herbs gradually add more depth. The finish retains a delightful richness, with a juicy sensation that naturally invites you to take another sip.

The domain
Based in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Domaine Pierre Usseglio & Fils is a family estate whose history began in 1948, when Francis Usseglio settled in the appellation. His son Pierre subsequently developed the domaine, whose story is now being continued by the family's new generation. Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and other traditional Southern Rhône varieties produce wines combining depth, balance and a strong sense of terroir, both in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and across the family's other appellations.
