Pierre Usseglio Lirac Blanc combines equal parts Grenache Blanc and Clairette grown on clay and stony soils, with the grapes hand-harvested in the cool early morning to preserve their vibrant fruit character. Fermentation takes place at low temperature for two to three weeks in stainless steel tanks or barrels using the estate’s own yeasts, followed by twelve months of ageing divided between stainless steel and previously used barrels. White peach, white fruit and delicate floral aromas shape a bright, elegant profile, enriched by subtle buttery and toasted nuances while retaining excellent freshness and balance.
The sommelier info
The nose emphasizes freshness, with white peach and white flowers taking center stage. As the wine breathes, it gradually reveals greater depth, with delicately rich nuances from the aging process that complement the fruit without masking its precision.
The palate is elegant and well-balanced. The Grenache Blanc adds body, while the Clairette contributes to the wine’s overall freshness. A few buttery and slightly toasty notes emerge on the mid-palate, leading to a fresh, lingering finish that retains a great deal of clarity.

The domain
Based in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Domaine Pierre Usseglio & Fils is a family estate whose history began in 1948, when Francis Usseglio settled in the appellation. His son Pierre subsequently developed the domaine, whose story is now being continued by the family's new generation. Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and other traditional Southern Rhône varieties produce wines combining depth, balance and a strong sense of terroir, both in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and across the family's other appellations.
