Domaine Bardi d’Alquier

Domaine Bardi d’Alquier (formerly Domaine Jean Michel Alquier) is situated in Faugères at an altitude of 340 metres. The soils consist of grey schist, gravel and flaky fragments. The estate covers 11 hectares.
Since 1870, five generations have succeeded one another on this family-owned estate. As early as 1910, Jean Michel Alquier’s grandfather, and later his father in 1955, worked on restructuring the estate in order to plant the first Syrah vines in Faugères in 1962. In 1995, Jean Michel took over around ten hectares and established a new estate under his own name.

The wines from the Jean-Michel Alquier estate are “authentic”, unlike all the standardised wines found everywhere else. Jean Michel Alquier always ensures that beauty and quality go hand in hand to guarantee harmony, balance, distinction and pleasure.
Jean Michel Alquier is one of those unassuming winegrowers who say very little but work with a consuming passion. The Jean-Michel Alquier estate is one of Faugères’ must-visit destinations!
Work in the vineyard is kept as ‘natural’ as possible and the grapes are harvested by hand.
