The domain
Founded in 1849, the Pol Roger Champagne House is now run by the fifth generation of the family, which manages 92 hectares of vines. Since its creation, each generation has taken up the torch to perpetuate the production of the famous Pol Roger champagnes and to help this family business grow. Winston Churchill, a great lover of Pol Roger since 1908, was particularly attached to this brand. His meeting in 1944 with Odette Pol-Roger, granddaughter of Richard Wallace, at a dinner at the British Embassy in Paris, sealed a strong relationship between the Churchill and Pol Roger families. The house stands out for its cellar-ageing process, which can last from 4 to 10 years, and its style is perfectly reflected in the Brut Réserve cuvée, which combines the three flagship grape varieties of the Champagne region: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. Pol Roger Brut Réserve is an enchanting cuvée that Sir Winston Churchill, a fervent admirer of the House, would no doubt have approved of!
