Shipping informations

Pierre Usseglio Lirac Red is predominantly Grenache, complemented by Mourvèdre, Syrah and Cinsault, offering a generous expression of the appellation’s stony, clay-rich terroirs. Following vinification, each grape variety is aged separately for twelve months in different vessels, from large foudres to barrels, allowing each component to develop its individual character before blending. Ripe black cherry, dark fruit, peppery herbs and mineral nuances shape a flavourful, elegant palate with ripe tannins and a lingering finish.

The sommelier info

The nose opens with ripe black cherry and dark fruits, accompanied by peppery notes and Mediterranean herbs. As the wine breathes, more earthy, mineral, and licorice-like nuances emerge, adding depth to the overall profile.

On the palate, the wine is full-bodied yet elegant, with ripe, well-integrated tannins. The fruit retains plenty of vibrancy, while spices and hints of garrigue add dimension. The finish is long and balanced, with a pleasant mineral quality that prolongs the wine’s freshness.

The domain

Based in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Domaine Pierre Usseglio & Fils is a family estate whose history began in 1948, when Francis Usseglio settled in the appellation. His son Pierre subsequently developed the domaine, whose story is now being continued by the family's new generation. Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and other traditional Southern Rhône varieties produce wines combining depth, balance and a strong sense of terroir, both in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and across the family's other appellations.
