La Syrah à Papa from Domaine du Monteillet was born on a terroir of rolled pebbles of the Rhône, these are heated by the sun and allow an optimal maturity and concentration of the grapes. It has also been aged for 15 months in half-muids of French oak.

The domain

Domaine Monteillet, perched at an altitude of over 1000 metres in Chavanay, majestically overlooks the Rhône. Covering 38 hectares, including 17 in a single block, it is part of four prestigious appellations: Saint Joseph, Condrieu, Cornas and Côte Rôtie. Stéphane Montez took over the reins of the family estate in 1997, succeeding his father after spending two years perfecting his skills abroad. The estate offers excellent value for money, particularly with cuvées such as ‘La Syrah à Papa’.
