Château des Sarrins Red wine is produced in Saint Antonin du Var by Bruno Paillard. An excellent Provence red wine !

With complex aromas of red fruits and spices, this red from Chateau Sarrins is harmonious and structured. The silky tannins well melted bring a nice roundness to the wine. This red Sarrins comes from the 60’s and 70’s. Mostly made with Grenache and Syrah. The ageing lasts 24 months in French oak barrels.

The domain

The name of Domaine Sarrins pulls its origin of the word "Saracens". In 11th century, a leader Saracen killed during one of the numerous raids led towards the hinterland would have been buried there - according to the local legend - "dressed in his golden armor". After their retreat, the name grew shorter, over the centuries, in "Les Sarrins". Covering 22 ha, the vineyard of Domaine des Sarrins is situated in Saint Antonin du Var. Acquired in 1995, the implanted vines were of Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. These old vines were kept but some Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan and Ugni Blanc were crashed for the production of local wine. Wines of Château des Sarrins are in naming Côtes de Provence and produced 70% of rosé wines, 10% of red wines and 20% of White wines.
