CHATEAU TOUR DE L’ EVEQUE
Château La Tour de l Evêque is located in Pierrefeu. This 88-hectare vineyard has vines with an average age of 20 years. Regine Sumeire, the owner, was the “instigator” of pale rosé wines with Pétale de rose for example.
CHATEAU LA TOUR L EVEQUE: REGINE SUMEIRE’S SUCCESS STORY
The Sumeire family acquired La Tour de l’Eveque in the Var department in 1958. Previously, the residence of the bishops of Toulon, this wine estate has two names: Chateau La Tour l Eveque and Château La Tour Sainte Anne. Today, after Gabriel and Roger, it is Régine Sumeire who manages the property in the continuity of this family work. Given the success of her wines, in 2015 she created the merchant Regine Sumeire Sélection, exclusively family. Régine Sumeire only buys from his goddaughter, Roger Sumeire, whose estate is contiguous to La Tour de l’Evêque. The wines are bottled under the brand La Source Gabriel.
CHÂTEAU LA TOUR DE L EVEQUE’S PHILOSOPHY AND TERROIR
Domaine de La Tour l’Eveque’s philosophy is the result of a long-standing, qualitative and organic family tradition. Winemaking depends above all on respect for the terroir and the biodiversity existing at Regine Sumeire’s wine estate. Since 2005, La Tour l Eveque has been used in organic form, without weeds or chemicals. The soil is worked without herbicides and plows, using infusions and other biodynamic methods. At Château La Tour de l Eveque, the harvests are carried out manually and sorting is cautious in order to make the best of it.
REGINE SUMEIRE WINES: ROSÉ PETALE DE ROSE
Chateau La Tour de l’Eveque produces the famous wine Petale de Rose, the sublime rosé of Provence! Certainly one of the best roses in Provence. The words that characterise the wines Chateau La Tour l’Eveque in all three colors are, among other things, beautiful balance, nice volume, aromatic finesse, beautiful freshness. The trials conducted this year at the Château Tour de l Eveque on the ageing of concrete eggs on the Reds and the Whites are extremely promising. Syrah, Mourvèdre, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cinsault offer red wine from Régine Sumeire. As for the whites, they come from Rolle, Sémillon and Ugni Blanc.
