The sommelier info
Quintessence White offers an intense bouquet blending citrus, white flowers and mineral notes of flint, subtly accompanied by woody and slightly toasty hints. On the palate, the attack is full-bodied and enveloping, with a rich, structured texture balanced by lovely freshness. The texture is both creamy and precise, giving way to a long, elegant finish marked by great aromatic persistence. A great white wine from Provence, to be discovered without delay!

The domain
Domaine de Rimauresq is a leading name in Provence wines. A 50-hectare Cru Classé of the Côtes de Provence, it embodies the winemaking excellence of the Var region thanks to its unique terroir, rich history and environmentally responsible expertise.
Domaine de Rimauresq, a Cru Classé of the Côtes de Provence, traces its roots back to the 19th century, when the vineyard was replanted in 1882 by Augustin Isnard following the phylloxera crisis. Quickly recognised for the quality of its wines, the estate won a silver medal as early as 1885, marking the beginning of its reputation. In 1941, it played a part in the creation of the Syndicat des Côtes de Provence, actively contributing to the recognition of the appellation. Classified as a Cru Classé in 1955, it reached a new milestone in 1988 with its acquisition by the Wemyss family, who remain the owners today and continue to uphold the excellence and identity of this iconic Var vineyard.
Located in Pignans, at the foot of Notre-Dame des Anges, the name Rimauresq is a contraction of Real Mauresque (the River Maures, which flows through the vineyard) and benefits from a unique terroir comprising clay-schist soils and a cool microclimate influenced by the Massif des Maures. Committed to sustainable viticulture, the estate achieved organic certification in 2020, adopting an approach that respects the soil and biodiversity. Cultivation practices promote soil life and banish chemicals, whilst winemaking relies on precise technical expertise. Late harvests, low-temperature vinification for rosés and whites, and careful ageing for reds: every stage is designed to reveal the full finesse, freshness and generosity of Provence wines.
Domaine de Rimauresq offers a wide range of wines across three complementary ranges: Classique, R and Quintessence. The Classique range embodies the authentic character of the Côtes de Provence with balanced wines featuring aromas of fruit, flowers and garrigue. The R range, the estate’s true signature, produced from the finest plots, offers more complex, elegant and structured wines, available in red, rosé and white. Finally, the Quintessence range embodies the estate’s excellence with exceptional, refined and deep wines. Crafted from nine grape varieties, including iconic ones such as Grenache, Syrah, Rolle and Cinsault, these wines fully reflect the richness of the Provençal terroir and the unique expertise of Domaine de Rimauresq.
