This Paternel Esprit de Famille cuvée comes from plots of the oldest vines of Clairette, Marsanne, Ugni Blanc and Sauvignon du Domaine du Paternel. The nose focuses on the pear, apricot, white flowers with anise notes. In the mouth, we find more richness and depth. Freshness and amplitude, tinted with mineral notes, citrus and white fruit, complement each other with buttery flavours. Domaine du Paternel Esprit de Famille is a Cassis Wine which needs to be kept a few years in a cellar to reach its fullness. The ageing period is 9 months.

The domain

The Domaine du Paternel was founded in 1943 by the Santini family, who soon owned some of the most prestigious land in the Cassis appellation. The first bottle was sold in 1951, and the Paternel was relaunched a few years later by Jean-Pierre Santini and his wife. The second generation also works in the cellar and in the vineyard, with a common passion for wine. Paternel wines are produced under three appellations: Cassis, Côtes-de-Provence and Bandol, although the estate is best known for its Cassis wines. Indeed, their parcels cover 50 hectares, or about a quarter of the appellation. As a result, this region quickly became an essential part of Provence. Despite this, the Santini family remains committed to its values and to the natural management of the vineyard: no pesticides, as much traditional work as possible...
